Eickhoff to Make MLB Debut

Former Olney Central Blue Knight Jerad Eickhoff will be making his MLB debut Friday, August 21st for the Philadelphia Phillies.  Eickhoff, a 2009 Evansville Mater Dei graduate, pitched at OCC in 2010 and 2011 for Coach Conley and holds numerous pitching records for the Knights.

After being drafted in 2010 by the Chicago Cubs, Jerad decided to come back to OCC to pitch again in his sophomore year.  He was then drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 15th round in the June 2011 MLB draft.  After moving up in the organization for the past few seasons, Eickhoff was traded to the Philadephia Phillies just before the trade deadline this season.

Jerad will become the 2nd former Blue Knight to reach the big leagues after Clint Barmes who made his MLB debut in 2003 with the Colorado Rockies.  We all would like to wish Jerad a long big league career and good luck in his first game!
