Renton Poole Sets School Record for Career Strikeouts

OCC's starting RHP Renton Poole struck out 6 Lincoln Trail hitters on Saturday giving him 111 K's on the season.  That brings his career total to 186 K's after finishing his freshman campaign with 75 K's in 62.1 innings.

The old mark of 181 K's was set by current Philadelphia Phillies RHP Jerad Eickhoff back in 2011.  Eickhoff also holds the single season record for K's with 116...a record that Poole will have a chance to break in his next start in the Region 24 tournament.

Poole is ranked 5th in the country in strikeouts despite having thrown fewer innings than anybody inside the top 18.
