OCC Sophomore 1B Phillip Archer has decided to continue his baseball career next fall at Southern Illinois University. Archer is the 6th Blue Knight so far this fall to choose his next school.
Archer played in 46 games as a freshman last season hitting .269 with 8 doubles and 3 HR's. He also was tied for 2nd on the team with 32 RBI's. This past summer for the Dubois County Bombers Phil made some noticable improvements in his approach and hit .317 in 104 AB's while hitting another 8 doubles.
Southern Illinois is located in Carbondale, Illinois and competes in the well respected Missouri Valley Conference. They've had a long history of success while also producing over 20 players that made it to the Major Leagues.
