Sophomore catcher Damon Maynard will continue his baseball career at Illnois State University. Damon is from Greenwood, Indiana and was a spring transfer from Quincy last year. He joins teammate Nolan Young as the second Blue Knight to choose the Redbirds.
Maynard played in 43 games last year while posting a .364 batting average. He added 11 doubles, 33 runs batted in, and led the team with 19 hit by pitches. Damon led the team in games caught and was solid behind the plate all season.
