Shortstop Ja'Lil Akbar will be attending the University of Central Missouri next fall. He will be the first Blue Knight to play for the Mules. Central Missouri plays in the MIAA (Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association). They have won 25 MAII championships, 2 national championships, and have the most wins of any NCAA baseball team since 2000.
As a freshman, Akbar started in 50 games and slashed .289/.367/.319. He also added 22 stolen bases and was 2nd on the team with 48 runs. Ja'Lil will have a big impact as a sophomore and continue to contribute with his glove and at the plate.
