Schram and Fryer Commit to UPike

Second year Freshmen Caleb Schram and Phil Fryer have committed to play baseball at the University of Pikeville under Casey Hamilton. The Bears are a NAIA program that competes in the Mid-South Conference. Caleb and Phil will join former teammate Byron Smith at Pikeville next fall.

Catcher Caleb Schram is from Fairfeld, OH and attended Fairfield High School. Sharing catching time in a shortened 2019, Caleb was 2 for 8 and had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. Schram also plays a big part with his vocal leadership to the pitching staff in games and practice.

Pitcher Phil Fryer is from Ashland, KY and attended Boyd County High School. In his 2019 season, Phil recorded 3 innings pitched allowing 3 earned runs. Fryer has made big jump this fall and will continue to get better and help the Blue Knight pitching staff.

The University of Pikeville is getting two good players who are hard workers and great teammates. They should have positive impacts for Pikeville on and off the field.
