Five players scored in double digits as sophomore John Brown led the Knights with 14 points in defeating Roane State from Harriman, TN on the first day of the Kiwanis Classic hosted by Vincennes University. Freshmen Carson Smith and Trey Mitchell (12 points each), along with Jaquan Grissett and Jamal Cummings (10 points each) finished out the double digit scoring as the Knights won 88-79.
Dominic Jackson led the way with 20 points and Jamal Cummings pulled down nine rebounds as the Knights defeated Ancilla College Saturday afternoon on day two of the Kiwanis Classic. Balance was the key once again as five Knights scored in double digits. OCC outscored Ancilla by 11 in the second half to pull away.
OCC (2-0) resumes play this weekend at the OCC Rotary Classic this Friday and Saturday. The Knights play SC Sports Academy at 7:30 Friday night and play Des Moines Area CC Saturday at 7:30 as well. Vincennes returns the favor by coming to Olney to play DMACC Friday at 5:30 and SC Sports Academy at 5:30 Saturday.
