OLNEY - The Olney Central College men's basketball team is set to host their annual Coach Gene Duke Memorial Golf Outing on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Richland Country Club in Olney.

This is a shotgun event, with a 1:00pm shotgun start.  The check-in for golf will begin at 11:00am.  Lunch will be served between NOON-1:00pm.  

There will be prizes for the team with the lowest score, longest drive, closest to the pin, and the team that wins the "speed hole."  There will also be door prizes and a 50/50 raffle.

Interim Head Basketball Coach Casey Wyllie said that this golf scramble benefits their student athletes.  Due to the COVID virus, this will be the largest fundraiser that they are able to do prior to their season starting.  All of the proceeds raised during this golf outing will go towards the student athletes meal plans in the school cafeteria.

"This event is all about building relationships with our sponsors, potential sponsors, alumni, and community supporters."  Wyllie said.  "We have a lot of supporters here locally and regionally and the idea to have this event is to enhance those relationships.  This event will give our supporters the opportunity to meet our new incoming players and catch up with all of our returners before the upcoming season."
