6'3 Guard – Trevor Taylor (Bloomington South, IN)

Trevor Taylor comes to Olney after playing last season at Bloomington South High School in Bloomington, Indiana.  Taylor played for Hall of Fame Coach JR Holmes, who most recently won the 2021 National Basketball Coaches Association High School Coach of the Year.  This season Bloomington South finished the season 25-5 and lost in the Class 4A IHSAA Final Four Semi-Final.  Taylor stuffed the stat sheet this past season averaging 13.6 PPG and led the team in rebounds and assists.  Taylor was also third on the team in steals.  He shot 53% overall from the field including 39% from three.  He also shot 74% from the free throw line.  Taylor is ranked #74 in the state of Indiana for the 2021 class according to Prep Hoops.  Prior to transferring to Bloomington South, Taylor played at Edgewood High School in Ellettsville, Indiana where former Blue Knight Cooper Bybee played.

Trevor Taylor on Olney Central: "I picked Olney because of the coaching staff.  They were there since the beginning and stayed consistent and really showed me that they want to put Olney on the map.  I'm ready to get to work and make that happen!"

Bloomington South Head Coach JR Holmes on Taylor: "Trevor was a great addition to our team this year.  He fit in well with the players and as the season went on, he played up to his ability.  He was the best player on the floor during our tourney run!"

Olney Central Coach Casey Wyllie on Taylor: "One of our first conversations with Trevor was about why he transferred to Bloomington South for his senior year.  He told us he transferred because he wanted discipline and to be held accountable.  He also wanted to be part of a winning program and to get stronger in the weight room.  We feel like Olney Central checks all those boxes.  Trevor wants to work.  He wants to be coached hard.  He wants to be pushed.  He is very talented and is only going to get better.  We are very excited to welcome Trevor Taylor to the Blue Knight family."

6'8 Forward – Chaz Hinds (Kankakee Community College, IL)

Chaz Hinds comes to Olney after playing last season at Division One Junior College Kankakee in Kankakee, IL.  Kankakee Community College competes in NJCAA Region 4.  While at KCC, Hinds generated Division One and Division Two interest.  Hinds was the second leading scorer at 12.7 PPG and led the team in rebounding at 8.3 RPG.  He shot 53% overall from the field including 33% from three.  Hinds shot 74.1% from the free throw line.  Prior to playing at KCC, Hinds was at the University of Pikeville in Pikeville, Kentucky which competes at the NAIA level.  Hinds is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana and played high school basketball at Southport HS.  He was a two-star recruit coming out of high school according to Verbal Commits.

Chaz Hinds on Olney Central: "I chose to come to Olney because it has a bunch of guys who want to get better and a coaching staff that wants the same!"

Former Kankakee Community College Head Coach Alex Thorson on Hinds: "Olney is not only getting a great basketball player, but a great young man as well.  Chaz worked extremely hard to better himself everyday in the weight room, basketball court, and classroom.  He is going to continue to open a lot of eyes to the talent that he has on the court next year at Olney."

Olney Central Coach Casey Wyllie on Hinds: "Chaz was very intriguing to us because of his skill set and his experience.  Chaz is six foot eight and weighs two fifteen.  His skill set to go along with his size is hard to find.  He has a great understanding of how to play the game and can score the ball many ways.  He is not afraid of contact and will post up on the blocks as well as step out and shoot threes.  We believe that Chaz is a very good fit for how we want to continue to play at Olney.  We are very excited about working with Chaz."
