BLUE KNIGHTS NAMED REGION 24 ACADEMIC TEAM OF THE YEAR

Olney Central Men's Basketball was named Region 24 Academic Team of the Year via NJCAA National Office on Thursday, July 15, 2021.  Olney Central finished with a team GPA of 3.19 which was the highest GPA of any team in Region 24.  The Blue Knights also finished #13 in the entire country in team GPA.

There were five (5) Blue Knights that were named to the All-American Academic Team. 

Freshman Jordan Graham - 2nd Team All-American

RS-Freshman Dillon Harrison - 3rd Team All-American

Sophomore Cayman Hayes - 3rd Team All-American

Sophomore CE Talton - 3rd Team All-American

Sophomore Jordan Tchuente - 3rd Team All-American

Olney Central finished the 2020-21 season with a 14-7 overall record.  They finished 2nd in Region 24 and 2nd in the Great Rivers Athletic Conference.  They beat preseason #1 John A Logan twice and split with Vincennes University.  Olney Central also swept Wabash Valley.  The Blue Knights finished the regular season ranked #24 in the final NJCAA DI Poll and saw themselves ranked as high as #20 in Week 6.

Blue Knights Head Coach Casey Wyllie: "I'm so proud of our guys effort in the classroom considering all circumstances this year.  To finish with the 13th highest GPA in the entire country is a total credit to our guys.  Our motto at Olney is "Books & Basketball" and in that order.  Our team this past year has set the standard in the classroom for the future teams here at OCC."
