The Lady Blue Knights traveled to Harriman, TN on Thursday to play Roane St. in a double header on the way to Myrtle Beach for spring break. They departed Harriman with a win and a loss.
In game one, freshman Bailey Walker got her first collegiate win for the Blue Knights. She went all 5 innings, giving up 4 runs (0 earned) on 3 hits with 5 strikeouts and 1 walk in the 12-4 run-ruled victory.
Sam Ledbetter, Allexis Lemon and Amber Miller collected two hits apiece in the win.
In game two, too many extra outs and extra runners hurt the Knights in a 10-6 loss. OCC out-hit Roane St. 13-6, but committed 6 errors to go along with 6 walks and a HBP. The extra runners and outs accounted for the loss.
Sam Ledbetter went 4-4 with a double and a homerun, a 3-run shot in the 2nd. Tyler Allen, Chelsea Presley, Alexis Chapman and Kendra Jansen collected 2 hits apiece in the loss.
OCC (3-1) continues play at Southeastern Community College-Whiteville on Saturday in Whiteville, NC.
