The Lady Knights softball team went 1-3 in the opening weekend of the 2016 season. Two of the three losses were by a single run.
Lack of hitting was the primary culprit, as OCC came home with a team batting average of only .220. Despite this, there were some positives as well. Pitching was very solid, as well as overall team defense.
Freshman Hollie Jones led the way offensively for the Knights, going 8-14 on the weekend. Another freshman, Bailey Bruce, picked up her first collegiate victory, in game two on Saturday in a 10-4 win.
