Turpin Commits to USF

RHP Erika Turpin (Plainfield, IN) has committed to the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne to continue her academic and softball career. USF is an NAIA school that participates in the Crossroads League, consisting of some of the best NAIA schools in the midwest. They are coached by Ryan Bolyn, who is in his 18th season at USF.

Turpin is bringing plenty of pitching experience to Fort Wayne.  In her freshman year at OCC, she went 12-7 with a 2.24 ERA in 115.2 innings pitched. She followed that up with a 4-1 record and 1.34 ERA in 36.2 innings before COVID shut down the 2020 season. Erika also has the potential to contribute offensively as well, showing power from the left side of the plate.

"Never give up on your dreams," Turpin said when asked about her commitment. She was thankful for the opportunity to continue on and play, and thankful for Olney for giving her the chance for that opportunity.

Turpin and the rest of the Lady Knights are gearing up for their season opener, February 19th in Meridian, MS against East Mississippi Community College.
