Lady Knights fall to #18 Vincennes in OT

The Lady Knights trailed by as many as 8 in the first half before finishing the half down 30-27.  Vincennes came out of the second half hot extending the lead to 37-29.  OCC did not back down and took over the lead halfway through the second half.  At the 7:13 mark in the second half the Lady Knights extended their largest lead of the night to 7 points on a three point basket by Brooke Callaway.  

Ashley Hawkins missed consecutive free throws with 5 seconds to go in regulation, followed by a missed runner by Samantha Scott to send the game into overtime.  The Lady Knights were outscored 21-10 in overtime, where the Trailblazers made two three's and converted 9 of 10 free throws.  

The Lady Knights were led in scoring by Kelsee Ennis who scored 25 points while pulling in 5 rebounds and dishing out 5 assists in just over 43 minutes.  Also joining Ennis in double figures was Leah Myers who added 14.  The Lady Knights were very balanced in scoring as Kelsey Pilant added 9 points, to go along with 11 rebounds, and Samantha Shoulders, Brooke Callaway, and Samantha Scott all added 7 points.  

The Trailblazers had 4 players in double figures led by Anya Kalenta who posted a game high 28 points to go along with 20 rebounds.  Nicole Dodd added 17 points and 9 rebounds, Ashley Hawkins contributed 16 points and 12 rebounds, and starting point guard Shelby Parmer added 11 points.

The Lady Knights travel to Mt. Carmel on Saturday night to continue their GRAC/Region 24 schedule against the Lady Warriors of Wabash Valley who sit at 6-3 overall and 2-1 in the GRAC after dropping their game tonight against Kaskaskia College. The Lady Knights will tip at 5:30 CST followed by the OCC Blue Knights at 7:30.
