Last nights IECC showdown featured 70 team fouls and 103 combined free throws. Lincoln Trail Lady Statesmen held off multiple second half runs to knock off the Lady Knights 91-82 in Wednesday nights GRAC matchup. The Lady Knights saw 10 of 11 players in the scoring colummn, 4 of which in double figures. OCC Was led by Samantha Scott's 21 points and Samantha Shoulder's 16 points (to go with 10 rebounds). Brooke Callaway and Shelbi Samsil also found double figures scoring 11 a piece.
Lincoln Trail used a 22-8 run in the last 6 minutes of the first half to build the lead to 45-30 at the half. The Lady Statesmen played cat and mouse with OCC throughout the second half increasing the lead to as many as 17 and as few as 7 on two different occasions.
The Lady Knights have a short turn around and hit the hardwood Wednesday night as the OCC women and men host Shawnee Community College. Lady Knights will tip at 5:30 followed shortly after by the men. Please come support the Knights as the number of home games is slowly getting smaller.
