Lady Knights suffer cold night in the Dungeon

The Lady Knights suffered a 68-57 loss on Wednesday night as they fall to 12-10 on the season.  A 15-0 first half run helped give the Trailblazers a 25-16 half time lead, and the Trailblazers never relinquished the lead.  OCC could not find the touch from the outside shooting 2-19 from down town while VU was 6-15.  The Lady Knights cut the lead to under 3 points on multiple occasions in the second half but could not get over the hump.

The Lady Knights were led in scoring by Samantha Shoulders who had an outstanding night on both ends of the floor.  Samantha Had 15 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals on the night.  Fellow Sophomore Leah Myers also added 13 points and Freshman post Kelsey Pilant added 11 points as well.  OCC dished out 15 assists and only had 15 turnovers in the loss.

Coach Burris and the Lady Knights will host the Lady Warriors of Wabash Valley on Saturday night.  Coach Loll's Warriors are coming off a 4 point victory over Kaskaskia and are now tied for first place in the region and the Great Rivers Athletic Conference.  The Warriors defeated OCC 82-70 on December 7th.  The 12 point loss is the biggest margin of defeat for the Lady Knights this season.

OCC Lady Knights and WVC Lady Warriors will tip off at 5:30 on Saturday night and the Men will follow at approx 7:30.
