Lady Knights shoot down the 18th ranked Warriors

The Lady Knights used 33 points from Samantha Scott and double-doubles from Brooke Callaway and Kelsee Ennis to knock off the first place Warriors of Wabash Valley.

The Lady Knights jumped out to a hot start with three consecutive threes from Samantha Scott and Kelsee Ennis to build a 9-0 lead to start the game.  Scott continued her hot shooting the entire first half, going 5-5 from down town and 6-6 from the line in the first half and tallying 21 first half points. The Lady Knights took a 46-37 lead into the locker room at the intermission.

The Warriors quickly eliminated that lead in the second half, and took the lead for the first time at the 12:37 mark afer a 3 point play by Tyshee Towner.  WVC then built the lead to 13 at the 7:30 mark, and 12 points at the 5:36 mark after another three point play by Andriana Moore.  The Lady Knights didn't quit and continued to fight back.  A foul and technical foul by Desiree Rhodes with 1:29 seconds gave OCC hope down 6.  Samantha Scott hit two free throws to make it 4 point game, and Erin Barton made 1 of 2 to cut the lead to 3.  Kelsee Ennis stole the ball from Towner, passed the ball ahead to Scott where she was fouled by Moore.  Scott would leave the game with a sprained ankle.  Freshman Shelbi Samsil came in for Scott, and knocked down both free throws to make it a 1-point deficit 79-78.  The Warriors worked the clock and got a 15 foot jumper from Sophomore Andriana Moore to make it 81-78.  OCC came down the floor and Shelbi Samsil found Brooke Callaway on the wing for a game tying three pointer with 16 seconds remaining.  Tyshee Towner missed a 10 foot jumper, Leah Myers pulled down the rebound and kicked it ahead to Kelsee Ennis who missed a half court shot for the win.

Up 89-87 with 13 seconds remaining, Kelsee Ennis was fouled and made the first and missed the second before getting her own rebound, only to be fouled again.  Ennis made both to extend the lead to five. The Lady Knights outscored the Warriors 11-6 in the extra period for the win including 6-7 from the free throw line and a huge go ahead three from Shelbi Samsil with 2:30 to play.
