Late 3rd quarter run helps Trailblazers pull away

The Vincennes Lady Trailblazers flexed their muscles Wednesday evening in The Dungeon knocking off the Lady Knights 68-51.  Both teams got off to a slow and sloppy start, but Vincennes was able to get a quick spark with 9 first quarter points from Sophomore guard Brooke Dossett to get off to a 12-4 start.  The Lady Knights were able to hang around most of the first 3 quarters getting the game within one or two possessions on multiple occassions.

Vincennes led by 8, 33-25 going into the second half.  The Lady Knights cut it to 3 points at 41-38 after a 3rd consecutive 3 pointer made by OCC's Weslee Wilson.  Two straight turnovers, an offensive rebound and a Marley Miller three, and a Brooke Dosset bucket at the buzzer extended the leadto 50-38 at the end of the 3rd quarter.  OCC was never able to regroup after the 19-4 run that ensued after the Wilson three to cut it to three.

Wilson finished with 28 points while hitting 4 of 6 from three point range, and 16 of 18 from the line.  Hannah Resler chipped in 8 points, Hasler 5, Kayla Deweese 4, while Brianna Farris, Bayli Spillman, and Kelsi Scott all added a single basket each.  No other Lady Knights were able to find the hoop.

OCC will host Rend Lake on Saturday night November 21st at 5:30 PM CST. Both teams will be looking for their first win of the year in Region/ District play as Rend Lake fell at Lincoln Trail on Wednesday as well.
