OLNEY - The Blue Knights wrapped up their regular season Wednesday night against Shawnee.  They fell 60-43.  The Blue Knights finished the regular season with an overall record of 24-6.  Olney Central finished second in Great Rivers Athletic Conference play with a 13-5 record and finish third in the region with a 14-6 record.  This is the third straight year that the Blue Knights have won twenty-plus wins.

The Region 24 tournament is hosted by Rend Lake College in Ina, Illinois.  The tournament will begin this Saturday, February 29 with a play-in game format for the six thru eleven seeds.  The higher seeded team will host the lower seeded team.  The winner of those games will move on to play at their designated times on Monday, March 2 at Rend Lake.  Olney Central will play the winner of Southwestern Illinois College and Southeastern Illinois College on Monday, March 2 at 7:00pm.

Head Coach Mike Burris on the tournament - "From top to bottom this is one of the best Junior College leagues in the country.  We didn't wrap up the regular season like we wanted, but we get an opportunity to bounce back on Monday.  We will approach the tournament with a 1-0 mindset.  We want to be 1-0 at the end of each night.  Survive and advance.  That's the name of the game at this point in the season."
